Ubuntu is an ancient African wisdom that emphasizes inter-connectedness, belonging, compassion and responding with the heart to the suffering in the world. Mr Nelson Mandela once said about Ubuntu “In Africa there is a concept known as 'ubuntu' – the profound sense that we are human only through the humanity of others; that if we are to accomplish anything in this world it will in equal measure be due to the work and achievement of others.” This is an insight into Ubuntu, the African Philosophy of interconnectedness in conversation with Nobantu Mpotulo & Dumi Magadlela. These are two prominent leaders in the fields of Ubuntu coaching and Ubuntu Intelligence. This event is for leaders who would like to bring love and compassion in leading using Ubuntu. Coaches will also receive pointers on how to support the above leaders in their journeys. In our workspaces we currently measure effectiveness through results and forget the connections and the intricacies that created the processes leading to results. Bringing Ubuntu to leadership helps us to pay attention to the relationships, emphasizing seeing each other as we work together in bringing results. The South African greeting sawubona, which means, I see you is the essence of what Ubuntu is. This is about seeing others and also seeing ourselves in others.
